Kiran Bedi will quit as Puducherry LG next year, read why?


Puducherry, 8 January: Kiran Bedi announced that she would demit office as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry in May next year on completion of two year due to growing differences with the Congress-led government.

Kiren Bedi statement comes day after the Congress MLAs sought Center's intervention complaining Bedi's style of functioning in the backdrop of her cancelling a circular issued by Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy. 

Earlier, Kiran Bedi declared a circular issued by Narayanasamy, banning the use of social media applications such as Facebook and WhatsApp for official communication, as 'null and void', stating that such as order falls in contravention of guidelines and rules and policies.

She told, 'If Puducherry has to be a progressive UT, it cannot be retrograde in communications. Hence Chief Minister Narayanasamy decision stands cancelled.

The notification issued by the Chief Minister Narayanasamy on December 2, last year directed all government employees to desist from using social media for official works, stating that the server of these multinational countries based outside the country.

Kolkata, 2 December: The Bhartiya Janta Party has hit back at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for politicising the moch drill conducted by the Indian Army and alleged that she is least bothered about her state and of late has been campaigning across the country against the Center's demonetisation move.

BJP leader Rahul Sinha said "It's so ridiculous that the CM does not know about the mock drill of the army, which takes place every three to four hour years. It is quite strange that the CM is not aware about it even as the CM and state administration has proper knowledge about the same". 

Mamata Banerjee has said that she is waiting at at the Bengal State Secretariat "to guard democracy" as the army is still stationed at the spot even hours after she expressed her apprehensions on the same.

Mamata Banerjee described the event as extremely unfortunate.

She tweeted "Very unfortunate. Army stationed in front of Nabanno, the Bengal State Secretariat in a high security zone, in-spite of police objection,"

She also said 'this move clearly violates the nation's federal structure, she said "The state was not informed about this development. In a federal structure, the functions of Center and state are clearly divided. But this act clearly violates our jurisdiction".

Kolkata, 29 November: Disregarding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's ominous declaration of removing Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Indian politics, an unfazed Bhartiya Janta Party on Monday said that she has clearly lost her mental balance post demonetisation. 

BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said in counter attack "She has certainly lost her cool and certainly lost her mental balance which should be there as a politician, therefore she is angry and ranting these kind of language against the Prime Minister Modi. I can only say to Mamata Banerjee, whether she lives on die I have nothing to do with it, but Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister of India after 2019,".

Earlier this day, Mamata Banerjee said in a statement, 'I will remove Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi from Indian politics either I will die or live.

Indre-Patna Express Derail, More than 100 dead


Kanpur, 20 November: The death toll in Indore-Patna Express tragedy has reached to 100, after the train derailed early morning on Sunday at the Hansi-Kanpur intersection near Pukhraya Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh. The accident happens today at 3.20 a.m.

Around 153 people have been injured and several bodies are still trapped under the wreckage of the mangled coaches.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have reached the spot and have swung into action with the police in pulling out bodies and providing aid to the victims.

Rescue operations have been underway since early morning and the death toll is expected to rise, Railway official said.

Almost 14 coaches of the train derailed in the see hours today causing the major accident resulting in the severe loss of lives.

Telangana CM KCR discusses demonetisation with PM Narendra Modi


Hyderabad, 17 Nov: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday spoke with Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi on the situation post the Centre's move to demonetise high-value currency notes. 

Prime Minister Modi has asked KCR to prepare a blue print on the measures to be taken to mitigate the difficulties of the people post demonetisation.

PM Modi is expected to hold a meeting with the Chief Minister KCR on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, KCR reviewed the impact of demonetisation on the state's revenue with senior Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Chief Secretaries at his camp office.

Addressing a gathering, Chandrashekhar Rao said if demonetisation will help clean up the country's economy it should be welcomed.

He said, any reform is a continuous process and it should be aimed at excellence. When thinkers and intellectuals together embark on a purpose it would be noting but success. However, any decision taken by the Center to curb and prevent Black money, should not cause misery and suffering to the lakhs of small traders, and those in the unorganized sectors as sell as the common man.
