CM Khattar announced Rs 50 lakh compensation to Martyr Mandeep Singh family


Kurukshetra, 30 October: Days after Indian soldiers Mandeep Singh lost his life in the ceasefire violation in Machhal sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday announced a compensation of Rs. 50 lakh and government job to one family member of the slain soldiers.

Khattar said, we all stand along with their families, Rs. 50 lakh will be given as compensation and a government job will be offered to one family member of the soldier.

Khattar also said, the sacrifice of Mandeep Singh will not go in vain, adding a befitting reply will be given to Pakistan for their act. We will help family in every possible manner.

27  year old Mandeep Singh was killed in an attack in Machhal sector near the Line of Control on Friday.

The terrorists mutilated his body before crossing into Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) under the cover of firing provided by Pakistan Army. One terrorist also killed in attack.

Mandeep Singh belong to Kurukshetra Haryana.

Diwali Mela at Haryana Tourist Complexed from 21-24 October


Faridabad, 14 October: The festival of lights is round the corner and celebrations are in the air. Further adding to the charm of the festivities, Diwali Mela has been planned at various Haryana Tourist Complexes across the state. Sh Sameer Pal Srow, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation information that for the first time Haryana Tourism will be organizing Diwali Mela at three of its prime properties, namely Oasis, Karnal; Badkhal, Faridabad and Myna, Rohtak from 21th to 24th October, 2016

In a press brief, Faridabad, Badkhal MLA Seema Trikha said that to boost tourism in the state, Haryana Tourism is agog to undertake new initiatives and has been actively organizing Food Festivals and now Diwali Mela at its Tourism Complexes that offers fun 'n' frolic for tourists. 

Major Highlights

The major highlights of the forthcoming Diwali Melas spanning four days would be shopping bazaar, multi-cuisine Food Courts, competitions for school students and joy rides. 

Also there will be cultural dance performances for visitors to enjoy and the opportunity to bag great deals on handcrafted textiles, jewelry and home decor items (great for gifts). Besides which, there will be plenty of regional eats to be sampled.

Entry is Free

The entry to the Mela will be free for all and the vibrant stalls will be lend a dash of colours to the Mela ambiance. There will me something for all age groups, including kids who can enjoy fun rides and gaming stalls.

A trailblazer in highway tourism, Haryana Tourism has 43 Tourist Complexes with 838 air-conditioned rooms, which provide all kinds of facilities to tourists. The concept   of tourism has been diversified and broadened by focusing on pilgrim tourism, heritage tourism, farm tourism, golf tourism eco-tourism,adventure tourism & MICE tourism.

The preparations for Haryana Tourism's much-acclaimed Surajkund International Crafts Mela to be held from 1st to 15th February, 2017 at Faridabad have also kick-started. Making the mela a more pleasurable experience, the Mela area has been expanded and it is now spread over 56 acres that houses over 1000 work huts for hosting craftspersons, added Sh Srow.

A number of upcoming projects to boost the tourism sector in the state are being taken up under the private public partnership mode that include Amusement Park at Tilyar, Rohtak, Wellness Resort-cum-Health spa at village Kaziana, Panchkula, Health Club at Faridabad, Floating restaurant at Karnal and Heritage Hotel at Madhogarh.

Six booked for assault on Haryana Congress leader

New Delhi, Oct 8: Police has registered a case against six people including three private security officers of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in an alleged attack on state Congress president Ashok Tanwar during Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi's Kisan Yatra, police said.

"We have registered a case on Friday evening under section 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code," Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal told IANS.

Tanwar and several other party workers were injured after a clash broke out between the supporters of the two factions at Bhairon Singh Marg, a meeting point ahead of Rahul Gandhi's rally at Jantar Mantar as the Congress Vice President reached the capital after his nearly-month-long Kisan Yatra across poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.
